Welcome to Orem, Utah.
Orem is an incorporated city in the north-central part of the state of Utah in Utah County. It is adjacent to Provo, Lindon, and Vineyard and is about 45 miles south of Salt Lake City. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 84,324. Utah Valley State College is located in Orem. The Orem Owlz of the minor league baseball Pioneer League play their home games at the college.
Utah Valley State College or UVSC, is a publicly-funded college located in Orem, Utah. Although the college has many courses of study, including an increasing number of bachelor's degree programs, it still retains many of its trade/technical school roots. The college currently offers 51 bachelor degrees and more than 270 career-preparation programs. The college's Wasatch Campus in Heber City, Utah, also offers bachelor degrees in business management and secondary education as well as associate degrees in accounting, behavioral science, business management, elementary education and general education. US News and World Report has ranked UVSC among the top comprehensive public institutions in the West.
Sleepy Ridge Golf Course - The Links at Sleepy Ridge is a par 72 golf course that measures 7,017 yards from the championship tees. The golf course was designed by Matthew Dye, a third generation member of one of the best known families of golf course designers in the world. The golf course plays through and around the wetlands on the eastern shore of Utah Lake. The golf course features generous rolling fairways and challenging approach shots that will appeal to golfers of all skill levels.
Orem is located in the Alpine School District and is home to three high schools, three junior high schools, and 16 elementary schools. Utah Valley State College and Stevens-Henager College are also located in Orem.

Orem police have found missing 15-year-old Brigham Harberston. Harberston, who is non-verbal and has Down syndrome, went missing from Timpanogos High School this afternoon.
